Stephen J. Miller is the driving force behind SJ Miller Associates, LLC in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He has more than 35 years of progressive corporate and government sector experience in investigation, consulting, and management. The company offers private investigation services.
His professional designations include: licensed and board-certified Professional Investigator (CPI); Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through the Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS); and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He has been an adjunct faculty instructor in criminal justice and business management at the Park University in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mr. Miller has a master's degree in public administration from the University of Wyoming, a bachelor's degree in history and political science from Ohio State University, an associate's degree in business administration and accounting from Franklin University, and legal assistant certification from Capital University.
He served as a police officer with the Ohio State University Police Department, as a criminal investigator with the Ohio Attorney General's Office, and as a special agent and director with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. He has assisted with asset recovery resulting from civil judgments, and in criminal defense cases involving homicide, assault, firearms, and illegal drug offenses. He also assisted municipal, county, and state agencies with cases involving violation of workplace and agency rules and policies, use of force, and other critical incidents. In his public and private career, he has been involved in countermeasure investigations involving covert cameras, audio recording, and tracking devices.
